Feedback: make sure that you get feedback on your performance and anything else you may need to know that affects your job, on a regular basis, from the person to whom you are answerable. If you face an end-of-year assessment, make this less of a stress hazard by making sure that you are aware in advance of the major criteria according to which your performance will be judged.
